What is the LOTTO MAX Dream Big Contest?
  • In addition to offering the largest jackpots in Canada, LOTTO MAX is giving players the chance to win even more prizes with the LOTTO MAX Dream Big Contest.
  • From September 8, to October 20, 2025, the LOTTO MAX Dream Big Contest will give players extra chances to win cash prizes with every LOTTO MAX ticket they purchase online or in-store.
  • For every $5 spent on LOTTO MAX, players will earn five entries for the chance to win 30 weekly prizes of $10,000 and the grand prize of $1 million.
How do I enter Dream Big?
  • You can enter an Eligible LOTTO MAX play by:
Retail Entry:
  • Enter an Eligible LOTTO MAX Play purchased in store. Sign in or register for an alc.ca account on alc.ca and click “Enter Tickets” on the promotions.alc.ca website. Enter the unique twenty-five- (25)-character alphanumeric code printed underneath the Dream Big logo on the bottom of the Eligible LOTTO MAX Play.
  • Scan an Eligible LOTTO MAX Play on promotions.alc.ca using a mobile device camera to enter the ticket in the Event. You will need to allow promotions.alc.ca access to your mobile device camera to scan your Eligible LOTTO MAX Play on promotions.alc.ca.
  • Download the Atlantic Lottery Mobile App, sign-in to your alc.ca account, open the ticket checker and scan your Eligible LOTTO MAX Play. The entries will be automatically entered. If you are not signed-in to the Atlantic Lottery Mobile App and you scan an Eligible LOTTO MAX Play, it will prompt you to sign-in. When you successfully sign-in to the Atlantic Lottery Mobile App, the last Eligible LOTTO MAX Play you scanned will be automatically entered. By signing-in to the Atlantic Lottery Mobile App and scanning your Eligible LOTTO MAX Play, you consent to entering the Event.
On-Line Entry:
  • Earn entries from an Eligible LOTTO MAX Play purchased online from alc.ca or the Atlantic Lottery Mobile App by signing‑in or registering for an alc.ca account, on alc.ca. If you do not wish to enter the Event, you must purchase your LOTTO MAX tickets offline through ALC’s retail partners for the duration of the Event. By purchasing an Eligible LOTTO MAX Play online on alc.ca or on the Atlantic Lottery Mobile App, participants consent to entering the Event. Please allow up to twenty-four (24) hours after purchase for entries to appear in your “Dream Big Event” tally on promotions.alc.ca.
  • Participants will be able to track the status of earning entries on promotions.alc.ca under "History" when signed in to their alc.ca account.
What are the prizes available to be won?
  • The LOTTO MAX Dream Big Contest offers players the chance to win 30 weekly prizes of $10,000 or the grand prize of $1 million.
What do I need to know to get started?
Do I have to purchase a LOTTO MAX ticket to participate in the LOTTO MAX Dream Big Contest?
  • No. You can join the LOTTO MAX Dream Big Contest without buying a ticket. Just follow these steps:
    1. Write a unique, 200‑word (or more) handwritten essay on "What would I do if I won one million dollars?" (No typed or copied essays allowed!)
    2. Mail your essay to:

Be sure to include your first and last name, age, and the email address linked to your alc.ca account.

  • If your essay meets the contest rules, we'll send an online entry code to the email address you provided. Enter this code on promotions.alc.ca to get five (5) entries into the weekly draw and the grand prize draw.
  • Make sure your essay reaches us by October 14, 2025, so it can be processed in time. Only one essay per envelope, please. We can't be responsible for any delays or lost mail.
How do I enter my Advance Play ticket purchases into the contest?
  • Advance Play tickets purchased online are automatically entered into the contest; Eligible Advance Play tickets purchased at retail must be entered on this website (or mobile app) during the contest. Eligible Retail tickets earn the entries when entered by the participant.
Are Free-Play tickets eligible for the contest?
  • No, Free-Play tickets cannot earn entries into the contest.
Do add-on purchases such as TAG and Twist also earn entries into the contest?
  • No, TAG and Twist are not eligible for this contest.
Who can participate in the LOTTO MAX Dream Big Contest?
  • Anyone who is a resident of Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, and Prince Edward Island who is 19 years of age with a valid alc.ca account can participate.
  • That is, anyone except the volunteers, employees, officers, directors, representatives or agents of any of the Atlantic Lottery Corporation (ALC); and any entity involved in the development, production, implementation, administration, judging or fulfillment of the contest, including Splashdot (the Contest Administrator)

Which provinces and territories are participating in the LOTTO MAX Dream Big Contest?
  • The participating provinces (and their respective Lottery Corporations) are British Columbia (BCLC); Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba. Yukon, the Northwest Territories and Nunavut (WCLC); Ontario (OLG); Québec (LQ); and Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, and Prince Edward Island (ALC).
Can I enter if I work at a location where lottery products are sold ?
  • ALC retailers and Immediate Family Members domiciled with them, can only enter the LOTTO MAX Big Dream Contest via online ticket purchases.
Can I win more than one prize?
  • Yes, every entry is eligible for both the grand prize draw and the weekly prize for the week’s draw your ticket is entered.
Is there a skill-testing question I need to complete correctly before receiving my prize?
  • Yes, winners must correctly answer a mathematical skill-testing question and complete a waiver before having their prize awarded.
How will the draws be conducted?
  • Valid entries received during the contest entry period will be entered in a grand prize draw (the ‘Grand Prize Draw”) to occur on October 24, 2025 (or as soon as possible thereafter). One (1) winning entry will be selected by random draw from among all eligible entries submitted from among all participating Canadian lottery jurisdictions (BCLC, WCLC, OLG, LQ, ALC) and received in accordance with the contest rules during the contest entry period (the “Draw”).

  • Also, valid entries received during the weekly contest entry periods will be entered into that week’s prize draw (the “Weekly Prize Draws Date”) to occur on the dates provided below (see chart). Thirty (30) winning entries will be selected by random draw during each of the contest periods provided below (see chart) from among all eligible entries submitted and received in accordance with these rules during the contest entry period (the “Draw”).

When will winners be contacted?
  • Potential winners will be notified as soon as reasonably possible following the date of the draw. Attempts will be made to contact potential winners at the telephone number/email address listed in their alc.ca account. Potential winners will have 5 business days after initial contact to provide proof of eligibility and to claim their prize. After 5 business days, a new winner will be selected if the first potential winner is unresponsive.
If I am a winner, how will I receive the prize?
  • Potential winners will be contacted at the email address and phone number provided with their registration information. The potential winner must return any message sent by the Contest Administrators within 5 business days from when the message was sent or the timeframe stipulated in the message to remain eligible to receive the prize. Prize claiming details will be provided at the time of contact.
When will the winners be announced?
  • ALC weekly and grand prize winners will be posted on this website as each winning entry is confirmed; winners from all participating Canadian lottery jurisdictions (BCLC, WCLC, OLG, LQ, ALC) will be posted here.
